Three reasons to come to A Grand Affair at Huff Harrington Fine Art

Three reasons to come to A Grand Affair at Huff Harrington Fine Art

Meet designer Kate Light (and her cool mom!) Reading Three reasons to come to A Grand Affair at Huff Harrington Fine Art 3 minutes Next Townhome living: yes or no?

One of our favorite gallery shows rolls around this coming Friday, January 25th from 6-8 p.m.  It’s A Grand Affair and we’re showcasing new works from our artists for $1,000 and under.   We’re not kidding about that and that’s not a typo.

Debora Stewart’s <a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/deborah-stewart/products/debora-stewart-black-and-white-4" target="_blank">Black and White No. 4</a> is part of A Grand Affair

Here are three reasons why you should definitely put this on the calendar:

1. it’s a great time to dip your toe into collecting

New to art? Do galleries make you nervous? Are you confused about oil versus acrylic, gouache vs watercolor and what really is the different between representational and impressionist paintings?  This is a fun evening to meet our gallery artists and chat about what they do so expertly.

<a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/geri-eubanks/products/geri-eubanks-iris" target="_blank">Iris by Geri Eubanks</a> will be on display.

<a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/augusta-wilson/products/augusta-wilson-piana-ii" target="_blank">Piana II</a> from adorable, bubbly Augusta Wilson.

2. it’s a great time to add to your existing collection

Even as a seasoned pro, your art collection will probably ebb, flow, morph and shift as your tastes change and grow.  A Grand Affair is a perfect opportunity to add new media – many of our artists will show wonderful works on paper (under glass and beautifully framed).  We love displaying these in pairs for small walls or as companions for larger oils or mixed media on canvas.

3. that’s not a typo: the works included in the show are really $1,000 and under!

Do you have an upcoming wedding/anniversary/birthday coming up? Is there anything more lovely than giving (and receiving!) an original painting? We know one client who stopped by last year and crossed off three wedding gifts during the evening.

Bethanne Cople paints little jewels of paintings and their titles are inspired by poetry. And this <a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/bethanne-cople/products/bethanne-cople-and-rove-and-revel-on" target="_blank">gorgeous little gem</a> is part of A Grand Affair!

Many of our painters participate so you’ll see plenty of work from some of your favorites, like Christina DoellingKelley OgburnEllen RolliTheresa Girard,  Lesley Powell, and many others who have been with us since day one – as well as a selection of charming French vintage works from our Heritage collection.  In fact, one thing we really love about this show is that you’ll see all styles, media, subject, composition and framing hanging on the walls. It’s truly a feast for the eyes (and for the wallet, may we dare say that?!). You can see everything that’s a grand and under right here.

And from our Heritage collection: the vintage <a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/heritage/products/heritage-maisons-rouge" target="_blank">“Maisons Rouges”</a> which we snapped up at the Paris flea market.

Here’s some of the eye candy that will be hanging on our walls:

Melissa Payne Baker’s <a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/melissa-payne-baker/products/payne-baker-in-the-mix" target="_blank">In the Mix</a> is 30 x 40. (hint: this is a fabulous opportunity to snap up a painting of this size by this immensely popular painter.)

Dawn Raulet’s sweet little animals are irresistible! <a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/dawne-raulet/products/dawne-raulet-cow-ii" target="_blank">Cow II</a>.

Unfortunately, not every painting at the gallery can be priced in that sweet spot, so you’ll also see plenty of other “slightly grander” pieces,  including work by Raymond Debieve, a French Picasso-inspired artist who painted from the 60’s through the 80’s:

Raymond Debieve’s <a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/1001-2500/products/heritage-cheveux-verts-by-raymond-debieve" target="_blank">“Cheveux Verts”</a> is actually a slightly grander affair.

And of course, it’s not a gallery show at Huff Harrington without nibbles and sips, so you can count on that too.

Now we think we’re running out of fingers and toes to count all the reasons we love A Grand Affair!  See you then.

Ta ta.

We can’t keep Amy Dixon’s charming <a href="https://huffharrington.com/collections/amy-dixon/products/amy-dixon-veuve-graphic" target="_blank">Veuve Cliquot</a> bottles on the wall.
