Mark your calendars: Palomas Contreras on January 18th!

Mark your calendars - we've got a new date for Paloma Contreras.

This lovely designer and arbitrator of good taste will join us at Huff Harrington on Thursday, January 18th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to sign copies of her newest coffee table book, The New Classic Home: Modern Meets Traditional Style (we'll have copies for purchase here at Huff Harrington if you haven't already picked one up).

We've known Paloma for years. We met when she joined us on a buying trip to Paris. Her business was still a fledgling one, so we spent a lot of time chatting about marketing, merchandising, buying, back office systems, accounting and, of course, design.

It's been a delight to watch Paloma's star ascend.  We think it's driven by two things: one, she is one of the nicest, most sincere and lovely people we've ever met who attracts friends in the sweetest way. Second, she's a seriously talented designer with a great eye for creating the magic of the mix.

Houston-based, Paloma has honed a style that gravitates to the traditional and classic, but with a soupcon of modern edginess.

Her work is timeless but fresh, functional, glamorous and most of all, ultimately comfortable and livable.  You'll find bold abstract paintings, animal prints, bullion fringe and wallpaper galore in her designs, tempered with sophisticated and clean-lined antiques.

She's also got a long list of accolades, from numerous ELLE Decor "A-List" mentions and she's been published all over the place, from Architectural Digest to Traditional Home and Vogue.

Can you see why we are so thrilled to welcome Paloma to Huff Harrington?!  Hope you can come by and say hello to this sweet, kind and very talented friend.

We're expecting quite a crowd so please RSVP right here.  We'll also have her book available for purchase here at Huff Harrington.

See you then!
