Huff Harrington Design Reveals a Living Room Installation

Hot off the Easel: Sherrie Russ Levine Reading Huff Harrington Design Reveals a Living Room Installation 3 minutes Next Bonjour, Y'all!

Huff Harrington Design has been busy up on our third floor.  Every time we walk by, Trudy, Wren and Heather are huddled together, scheming all kinds of design alchemy. They're cooking up gorgeous mood boards, laying out tile and flooring samples, piling on the fabric swatches and adding art and accessories to the mix. It's so fun to watch them work their magic.

Speaking of magic, Heather recently installed several rooms for a delightful client and we're delighted to share the reveal right here.

Our client's Buckhead home was already pretty spectacular but the homeowner felt a couple spots needed a little attention: the foyer and the formal living room.  "The house itself exudes a European vibe," says Heather, who was the lead designer on the project. "The homeowners already owned some pretty fabulous antiques and art so we just added a few components to complement what was already there."

The foyer, anchored by a lovingly collected gallery wall, is striking. "The two-toned marble floor, with its inset details, is quite dramatic, especially with the matching crystal chandeliers. We played off the existing (and wonderfully crunchy) 18th- century Swedish painted bench by adding chic pillows and a metallic drinks table." says Heather.  "We were also able to help source several additions to her gallery wall."

In the light-filled living room, the client's beautiful burled walnut commode and antique chinoiserie mirror were the foundation pieces to begin with.

"The  homeowner wanted something traditional, pretty and tailored and she really trusted us to pull the entire room together," says Heather.

In went two matching modern Chesterfield sofas, upholstered in a soft neutral and accentuated with smart brass nail heads.  A square glass coffee table is the perfect spot for a carefully curated collection of coffee table books and accessories.  Two graceful wingbacks flank a sassy hide and horn table.

In addition to new seating, Heather brought in painted, carved Italian consoles sourced at Huff Harrington Home

"We added two Italian painted consoles in front of the windows as well as a armed ottoman for some extra seating," says Heather.

Our client graciously told us that her lovely old home feels even more elegant and curated than it was before - and that the family is spending more time in the re-designed room than ever. We honestly couldn't have asked for a more wonderful compliment.
