When one of Huff Harrington Design's favorite clients referred her sister to our team, we were thrilled to not only meet another member of the lovely family, but also to flex our design muscles with the sister's brand-new build in Buckhead.
We were brought on board just after the plans had been finalized and most of the hard finishes had been selected - but we wasted no time dreaming up a design scheme that would give the homeowner the warm and sophisticated interior she wanted.
As a busy professional for a Fortune 100 corporation, our client had a few set-in-stone wishes for her new home: she loves neutrals and textures, she loves art and she wanted intimate spaces in her home for entertaining and spending time with her two adult daughters.

We got to work, sourcing (not only at Huff Harrington but also from many of our favorite vendors), finding a few "wow" pieces to anchor key rooms and went from there, adding antiques, art, textiles and just the right amount of contemporary furnishings to create a little magic of the mix. A well-timed buying trip to France with Huff Harrington Home netted a spectacular burled-wood coffee table that sets the tone for the living room, along with some unusually crunchy and crusty sculptures, vintage art and an elegant, burled walnut Louis Philippe commode.

The sleek and chic living room with a show-stopper mid-century coffee table from France and Verellen sofas. Matching consoles, clean-lined sconces from Visual Comfort and mirrors sourced at Holland McRae complete the vignette.

An abstract painting by Chris Brandell looks right at home in the foyer, over a burled walnut Louis Philippe commode from France.
With a neutral palette as a backdrop, we focused on adding layer after layer with thoughtfully chosen accessories and plenty of texture in the way of nubbly upholstery, pillows and trim.

The keeping room features inviting swivel chairs in a fresh Schumacher fabric and a sleek iron and marble coffee table from Jerry Pair.

The conversation room is textural, welcoming and full of visual interest. The console is vintage Italian from Foxglove Antiques Collective and the coffee table is Made Goods.
We picked several stand-out paintings to hold court in various spaces throughout the home - and had the very best time curating one of the client's greatest wishes: a gallery wall extending up the main stairwell in the home (with a lot of help from Huff Harrington Fine Art!)
The gallery wall was so fun to curate for the client. She loves art.
The spacious home features all the creature comforts a family could need, including the original swimming pool - but with an updated and re-imagined turf and stone paver surround and a nearby porch, perfect for enjoying a warm summer night and a glass of wine.

The ten-star kitchen is swathed in marble with a crunchy, late 17th-century carved mirror as a major focal point. The client loves a touch of organic so Trudy sourced these gorgeous marble slabs that are full of movement and life.

The charming butler's pantry, with Soane wallpaper and an 19th-century barometer.
The living spaces feel sophisticated, elevated and collected: a warm and welcoming dining room with a table that's perfect for hosting holidays; a chic conversation room with four sassy armchairs and fringed ottomans; the living room, with matching sofas, contemporary art and a couple crusty antiques and the ten-star kitchen with its adjacent family room and office space for our client.

The living room is alive with subtle pattern and plenty of texture. The club chairs are Coley Home with a custom fabric.

A French, 19th-century walnut dining table and a vintage Murano glass chandelier anchors the sophisticated dining room.
The upstairs master bedroom is serene and purposely pared-down to create a simple retreat for the homeowner.

Soft, serene and the ultimate primary bedroom retreat. The rug is from Moattar, the bed and side tables were sourced at Bungalow Classic and are topped by vintage Murano glass lamps.

Filled with new and old, sleek and crunchy, neutrals and texture galore, our client's new home is the refined retreat she was looking for. Call this project the perfect sister act: what began as a sibling recommendation grew into a celebration of vision and trust - proof that good taste runs in this family.
