Design dossier: a few easy fixes for Spring

Design Dossier Reading Design dossier: a few easy fixes for Spring 3 minutes Next Bonjour Y'all!

There are hints of spring in the air - which means this is a great time to ramp up  a refluff, refresh and redo.

We checked in with our trio of designers for some easy tips that they rely when it comes to a quick re-style.

“You don't have to buy new upholstery or undertake a major renovation to make your space feel fresh and updated. There are easier ways to do that." says Wren Caples, one of our designers.  "Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed with this. You want to be able to make a few easy changes that make a big impact – and don’t break the bank.”

Adding a pop of happy color, restyling a bookshelf or coffee table or maybe indulging in new decorative accessories or pillows are simple ways to embrace the new season.

Easy, no-brainer updates include:

Pillows: "So easy! This is one of our favorite insta-fixes," says designer Heather Parker. You can change the entire look of a space simply by replacing pillows.  With spring right around the corner, we're loving these blue and green-hued babies.

Lighting:  Trudy Stump thinks of table lamps as jewelry for your furniture - they're easy to switch out or move around and they add a nice pop of pizazz.

Rugs: we're all recently obsessed with a line of gorgeous, handmade Oushak rugs that we've been carrying in the store.  They come in all sizes but the sweet little ones are perfect for sprucing up a kitchen, entry hall or bathroom.

Accessories: the store is a revolving door of beautiful decorative accessories that come in - and then fly out!  We love unusual and organic shapes and materials, from crystal to marble and even hand-painted ceramics.

And don't forget our favorite accessory go-to: coffee table books!

Paint and wallpaper: one of the least-expensive and easiest ways to transform a room is with a fresh coat of paint or a gorgeous layer of exquisite wallpaper.  We're loving crisp white walls and drop-dead gorgeous wallpapers that add sass and sophistication.

Our goal? Make your home your haven - and a place you're very happy spending time in.
