Allison Chambers
Allison’s work came across our radar a while ago but it was during a painting trip to Provence that we became obsessed with her work and gentle manner, as we watched her paint diligently and with a keen eye that missed no detail.
We’re drawn to Allison’s softly rendered and beautifully painted landscapes and waterscapes that capture light, depth and the constantly shifting movement of water, flora and fauna. Her impasto technique incorporates the texture that only comes from the liberal use of a palette knife, tempered with the finesse of expert brushstrokes. We love her palette interpretations, too: from full-on, glorious color to limited, more tonal creations. “It’s a challenge to experiment with color,” she says.
With her color- and texture-driven paintings that range from medium to large scale, Allison’s true passion “is to create abstracted interpretations of life.” She has studied under Andy Braitman, Curt Butler, Nancy Franke and the late Ken Auster and is one of our most sought after, full-time artists as well as a very popular oil-painter teacher.
