When the call came that there was a bedroom space available at the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Home for the Holidays Showhouse, Huff Harrington Design took about one second to say "yes, please!"
We love showhouses: the collaboration between the architect, the builders, the subs, the designers and the wonderful staff at AHL makes for a heart-warming and exciting experience. Watching the house come together exactly as planned (or sometimes not, because things happen) and seeing the fruition of all the hard work is truly inspiring.
And this home was no exception. With its clean lines, light brick facade and gorgeous, large windows, the house perches on a hill in Historic Brookhaven and is a harmonious mix of contemporary style and timeless charm. Linda MacArthur was the architect and the home was constructed by Livingston Fine Homes.

Trudy Stump, our head of Huff Harrington Design - as well as designer Emma Lee and project manager Anna Greco - jumped headfirst into the creative vision for the room.
Right away, the vision came for a pair of darling twin beds to set the stage for a friendly, approachable space that would feel welcoming - and pretty - to house guests of any age.
As the process progressed, the team added other non-negotiable elements: original art, a handsome Louis Philippe walnut commode, a French crystal chandelier and two sweet ottomans to anchor the twin beds. And with the walls and ceiling painted in the softest creamiest high-gloss Farrow and Ball white, the room began to glow.

The room is all about texture and quiet pattern in soft neutrals.

Every room needs a wow moment which Huff Harrington Design delivered flawlessly: a vintage, 1940's French settee that we sourced at an antiques fair in the South of France.
When we first saw it, we knew it had potential but it was going to be a leap of faith - it was covered in a dusty, dingy fabric that was decades old and probably had been the favorite snoozing spot for a cat or two over the years. It sat in our warehouse for at least a year before Trudy swept in and scooped it up to be the star of our showhouse bedroom.

Ta-da! Our darling little settee with its new glow-up and surrounded by a clever grouping of neutral paintings.
Art was the focus of the vestibule leading into the bedroom. Trudy and team curated a lively grouping of contemporary and vintage art, with an antique mirror and small antlers sprinkled in for interest.
