There's another designer showhouse on the horizon here in Atlanta and we couldn't be more excited about it.
Home for the Holidays, Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles annual holiday showhouse is scheduled to open on November 12 through December 6th and we're delighted to announce that Huff Harrington Design has a lovely spot to design and decorate.
Flashback to our favorite showhouse: the 2019 Southeastern Designer Showhouse. We had the veranda and it was a blast to design and install.
We loaded the veranda up with a nice mix of new and old - and art.
The gallery leading to the master bedroom. Two large paintings by Debora Stewart anchor the space.
But first a little bit about the house: it's new construction in Ivy Ridge, a new pretty little enclave in Brookhaven, just off Peachtree Dunwoody Road. We love the fact that the Nantucket-style house, while loaded to the gills with bells and whistles, feels livable and attainable. It's got a great flow and all kinds of things to brag about: a beautiful, open kitchen and fireplace that opens to a pretty outdoor living space; a top-notch scullery (who doesn't love a scullery?! That's a whole other blog itself); and a sensational master suite and bath. Upstairs, there are multiple bedrooms and the space that we're designing: the lady's upstairs lounge.
We're picturing it as a spot that the lady of the house can call her own. She can work in it, read, stream or watch tv and entertain in it. It's a very personal and feminine space. We'll be mixing up a soft palette, plenty of texture and a couple wow moments.
We also have the honor of placing art in the long gallery upstairs and we're already having a field day choosing art and lighting for the space. Stay tuned for some little snippets of inspiration as we progress.
Here are some great images from past Home for the Holiday showhouses, just to whet your appetite:
We're in great company at the showhouse. As always, Altanta Homes and Lifestyles invites the southeast's brightest and best designers to participate so this house is going to be oozing with good taste, excellent design and inspiration.
We'll be busy for the next month putting the finishing touches on our plans and then installing at the house. There's a great feeling of camaraderie between the designers, especially during installation and it's a joy to watch all the rooms and spaces come together so magically.
So please do mark your calendar and plan on coming by the showhouse when it opens. We promise you won't be disappointed when you see the southeast's design stars putting their stylish spin on Southern hospitality.
PS: safety first! Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles will have a mask requirement for the showhouse, social distancing measures will be in place as well as other COVID safety precautions.
