This French early 19th century Louis XV style pale-colored buffet is made of stripped oak and was born in Northern France. The most striking carvings, made of the typical Rocaille favored under the reign of King Louis XV, are on the doors, topped with one charming long drawer with a delicate butterfly shaped escutcheon and anchored by sinuous Louis XV curves on the skirt. The whole piece is elegant and appealing, a timeless beauty that will always be the prettiest piece in the room, due to its pale color, intricate carvings and graceful shape. They just don’t make them like this anymore!
