Trips - Itinerary - Week in Provence

Sample Itinerary

Note: This is a sample itinerary and we may change it according to the weather report and guests' wishes.

day 1

You will be picked up at the Avignon TGV train station by our wonderful driver in the afternnon, and driven to Les Murets where you’ll be greeted with a glass of bubbly and plenty of time to unpack, freshen up, and explore the property before sitting down to dinner on the terrace, with your new group of friends.

day 2

Shake off that jetlag! After our easy and fresh breakfast (think melon, fresh farm eggs and bien sur, croissants) we’ll head out for a busy day of exploring the Luberon. The first stop is the sensory and mouth-watering market of Coustellet, followed by a leisurely lunch in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Then we’ll spend the afternoon wandering through this famous little antiques mecca, perusing the “brocante” and happily imagining where we’d put all those armoires, mirrors and chandeliers when we get home. Dinner: the best spot in Provence – the terrace at Les Murets.

day 3

Off to an early start to our favorite little Mediterranean jewel of a village: Cassis. We’ll lunch on the legendary soupe de poisson with plenty of crisp, cold white wine and then dip our toes in the blue, blue water. We’ll also explore, by boat, the famous Calanques (sort of like mini-fjords) that line the coast here. On the way home, we’ll stop in Aix-en-Provence for a stroll and a café at the famous Deux Garcons. Dinner back home in Paradise.

day 4

We’ll stretch our legs with a power walk into the hillside town of Gordes, followed by power shopping at the wonderful Gordes market. Pottery, fabric, jewelry, clothing, food…you name it and you’ll find it here. We’ll follow it up with a sun-drenched lunch nearby and then spend the afternoon visiting the Luberon’s famous trifecta of cliff-hugging villages: Menerbes, Lacoste and Bonnieux.

day 5

Off to chic St. Remy for the bustling and colorful market. We’ll be starved by lunch and you’ll adore our very, very favorite spot in Provence where there’s no menu and we rub elbows with locals, tourists and the occasional French film star. We top the day off with a lovely cultural excursion, a vineyard visit and a light and lively dinner sur la terrace.

day 6

We snooze a little in the morning then explore pretty Lourmarin for a final day of shopping and culture. After our grand finale on the porch, we’ll do our famous “show and tell” where we all get to show off our special treats and treasures acquired during the week. And of course, our final dinner is festive and fun as we relive the week and start trading addresses with our new bffs.

day 7

Now, no crying. It’s time to leave. We’ll get you to the station in plenty of time to catch your train to the airport… or to Paris if you’ve decided to indulge in a few more days of la vie en rose.
